Latest Morning Skincare Routine

Winter is here and my skin is definitely being put to the test. I have mostly dry and sometimes oily skin but with the weather being so crisp, my skin is definitely craving some moisture. My latest morning routine consists of a few steps but I try to keep it pretty simple.

Step 1 | Cleanse

I start off by cleansing with Summer Friday’s Super Amino Gel Cleanser while my face is damp with warm water. This product gently cleanses the skin and as you massage this gel-based product into your face, a slight slight foam will form. Once you wash the lather off, your face will feel clean without your skin feeling dried out or stripped.

Step 2 | Treatment

I generally like to add in the Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen, especially during the winter time, as I feel like it gives my skin an extra boost of plumpness but I don’t always do this if I’m in a rush.

However, I do use Olehenriksen’s Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum or Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil with or without the liquid collagen. I love Olehenriksen’s vitamin C, it brightens and really makes your skin glow. Biossance’s rose oil also gives my skin an amazing glow and locks in extra moisture while settling into my skin without feeling too oily. I use these two products interchangeably.

Step 3 | Moisturize and Protect (Face)

Usually, I place moisturize and protect in its own respective categories. However, I love a product that serves double duty. In this case, the Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Day Cream has become a favorite of mine. Not only does it moisturize my skin in the extreme dry weather, it also has SPF! This product saves me a step from needing to apply yet another product to protect my skin. This is great if I’m trying to get ready in a hurry in the morning.

Step 4 | Moisturize (Lip)

Last but not least, I’ve been obsessed with Laneige’s Lip Glowy Balm! I feel like I always used to forget about my lips but once I started to take care of them I realized what a difference it really makes. I always keep one in my purse so I can reapply throughout the day.

I like to try out different products to see what works for me and what doesn’t but as of lately, I’ve been sticking to these because I find these products doing well for my skin at the moment. This will change over time and as the weather changes, I know the needs of my skin will change.
